Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Serve notice

How do i serve a court notice to someone when i don't know where they are? I want to terminate my daughter's biological father's parental rights but i haven't seen him in two years and i don't know where he is.

Re: Serve notice

There is no such thing as terminating the bio-dad's rights, so there is nothing ylou can file or serve. The only times there will be a termination will be (1) cases in juvenile court where the state is taking the children from the parents because of abuse, etc. or (2) if you are married, and your new husband is adopting them (and in that case you will need a lawyer).

Your child has a right to have a father and seek support and you do not have the legal right to interfere with that.
