single parent issue with one child

What type of paper work do I need to give have guardinship of my son signed over to my friend while I'm out of the country on business for awhile, I need to know that my friend will be able to raise my son in the event that something should happen to me. I'm just concerned for my sons welfare.

Step one would be a good will, including trust and guardianship provisions, in case you die.

Step two MIGHT be a guardianship, or far less.

Step three likely will be to make sure your life insurance is payable to a trust created in your will and NOT direct to minor children.
