Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My sister left her boys with their dad over a year ago, lives in the same city, does not spend much time with them and flies out of state to see her boyfriend...when in court for temp custody hearing, the judge asked the boys, all older than 10, who they wanted to live with...all of them answered their dad yet the judge granted temp custody to the mom...how is that possible? I love my sister, but the boys are very happy with their dad and now they are upset wondering why they are being told they have to live with their mother who they feel "walked away" from them...my heart breaks for them.

Obviously there is a great deal more to the case that what you posted, and whichever party did not like the result needs to ask their lawyer (if a party in a custody case chose not to have a lawyer that fact alone usually helps guarantee a bad result).
