Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My sister is about to pass away of cancer and she gave me custody of her daughter in her will my question is what is the process after she passes do I just file it with the court and that's it she's mine is there a court date do they do a background check to make sure I'm not crazy I just don't know what I'm supposed to do

Children are not personal property like a bedroom suite that can just be given away in a will, so no that will not work. You need to hire a lawyer who handles family matters involving custody and adoptions, immediately.
