Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

my son has a child, did not marry the mother. The mothers parents are seeking temporary guardianship because the mother is considering going into the military. If my son signs the papers giving them temporary guardianship, will he lose his rights to the child now or in the future

He should consult with a lawyer as no one here has read the papers, which may or may not affect his present or future rights.

Has he legitimated the child? This is important in determining if he has rights to sign away. If he hasn't legimitated the child, he doesn't have legal rights to the child.

If he has legimitated the child, he may want to include in the document a specific end date. He may want to consult with an attorney to draft the document. My range for these papers are $500-$750 in Georgia.
