Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My son has a child out of wedlock with a girl, he wants custody, he signed papers putting himself on the birth certificate, what is the next step. How do you legitimize the child? They (mother and daughter) moved to another state (been gone for a month) where does he file?

Step one is to hire a lawyer. He may still be able to file here if he hurries. If he waits, he will have to go to the other step.

Getting custody of a young baby is difficult, so he will need to be prepared to show he has faithfully paid adequate child support, and is seeing the child, and doing a lot of parenting.
