Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
My son and I live in Georgia. He was born in Georgia as well. However, his father lives in Alabama. I decided to go through family and children services for childsupport since we were not married and there was no question of paternity. In hindsight I should have retained an atty. Shortly after the order for childsupport was made he sought a modification alleging he lost his job when i provided the case worker with information to the contrary. He has had at least one or two more modifications (in 3 yrs). We have never had a custody hearing or anything of the sort and he has no interest in seeing my son. I have two questions.
1) I want to obtain a passport for my son. I don't have any contact with his father. Is there a way I can do this without his involvement. Or, if he has to be involved what is the best way to do it since I don't have any contact with him.
2) Is there any thing I can do about this terribly sympathetic judge who is not taking the financial well being of my son into considertation. I make appx 3 times his wages 3 yrs ago, I'm not sure what he makes now but the childsupport barely pays one week of daycare.

When you chose not to request notice of hearings, and you could have requested that and attended, you gave him a blank check. The next time, attend his support hearings.
Both parents must consent to a passport.
