Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My son is 14 years old. I was married but, separated at the time of his birth and my huband at that time was NOT the biological father of the child. The biological paternity of my son was not a secret and was openly acknowledged. However, because I was married I had to show my ex-husband as the father on the birth certificate. The biological father is the publicly recognized father in both families and spends every other weekend and vacations with him. The only relationship between my ex-husband and my son is the birth certificate. We would like to have the certificate changed to show his biological father as the legal father. My ex-husband will be in agreement to this, of course. How do we do this in a timely and inexpensive way?

Whether you can or not depends on the wording of the divorce. I'd have to see that to see if you included language that would permit a court case now. If you did we can help you. If you didn't you may not be able to ever fix it.
