Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
What State should the attorney be from?
My son moved from Fla. to Sicily in January to work there for 3 years. His wife and sons were to join him in early August. She sent him an email yesterday saying she was leaving him and taking the boys. Wouldn't say where they were going, but said she'd send divorce papers for him to sign. He wants to contact an attorney to represent him, but doesn't know what State to go to.
He asked me to help him find an attorney, send him the information, and he'll take it from there.
Can we use a Georgia Attorney? If not, coould you please point me in the right direction.

Re: What State should the attorney be from?
The appropriate state would be where the wife and kids are located. If your son has become a permanent resident of Sicily, then the wife must bring suit against him there where jurisdiction would be proper unless he consents to jurisdiction in the state where she files.
