Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
In a different state and looking to get full custody of my 12 year old child in FL. She is currently being abused, neglected, etc and CPS has not helped over the years. Mother is residential parent, we haved shared parental responsibility. Several emergency situations where my child is locked up in juvenile.
If my child gets to the FL state line and walks across to me on the other side of the state line- would this still be considered an abduction?
Thank you-
Odie

If you take a child across state lines and do not have custody, you risk life in prison. You would almost certainly serve many years.
You will have committed two state crimes - kidnapping and interference with custody, and a federal crime in crossing the state line - all serious felonies.
If you actually have concerns, your remedy is to hire a lawyer in Florida.
