in the state of georgia. in joint physical custody, can the custodial parent take the minor child out of the country without the consent of the non-custodial parent?

It depends on the language of the custody paperwork, which you chose not to quote. because of that, your question cannot be answered here. Your lawyer who handled your papers should be familiar with the papers and be able to answer if you can't tell from reading the papers.

There should be paperwork and you should consult the attorney who handled it for you. However, you cannot take the child out of the country without the other parent signing the child's passport. You will have to review your agreement to see whether it provides some clue as to whether the other parent gave his/her consent therein. If not, then there is not much that can be done.
