Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Statute of Limitations Regarding Bigamy

A friend of my mother found out that her husband of 20 years married another woman about 5 years ago. The marriage was anulled, and her husband informed her of the act. She took him back, intending to ''make it work.'' He told her yesterday that he wants a divorce, he has continued the relationship with the other woman, and he wants to marry her. He told her that she had 4 years from the date she learned about the bigamy to file suit, and since she did not he is free to go. He is being very threatening, claiming he's going to get ''half of everything she's got'' and that she can't do anything about it. Is he correct?

She needs to stop listening to him (he's making it all up) and retain legal counsel.

I wouldn't worry too much about the bigamy yet. I would focus on the apparent continuing adultery and throw the bigamy in for good measure. She should contact an aggressive divorce attorney.
