Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Support Modification

I am recently seperated from my wife. We have two children together and have agreed to $500/month in child support. I pay child support for two other children (two seperate support orders) as well as support a child in my household as a single parent. This puts an incredible strain on my finances making it necessary for me to get a second job just to pay necessary monthly bills. Is it possible to have one or both of the other support orders modified?

Re: Support Modification

Yes, you can have one or both modified, depending on "change of fincancial cirmstances". You should contact a local attorney.

Re: Support Modification

You may be able to have your child support modified. The determining facotr is whether there has been a change in financial circumstances. Usually, the birth of another child or marriage to another family would ot be enough. I assume you want to reduce the previous child support obligations and not the 500 amount. Was the child living with you subject to any of the support awards?
