Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Support parent income verification
The father of my dghtr's child requested support mod. During pre-hearing he provided tax records alleging he's employed by another. My dghtr disputed employment docs. & know he is self employed barber. Upon requesting a hearing the alleged employer refused to testify to the validity of the bogus income docs. Can bogus employer be subpoenaed requiring testimony to fact? Is there any way outside of a Judge's Order to compel support father to disclose or accurately verify support father's legitimate self employment income? We want closure to this matter & will retain representation if needed.

Of course the alleged bogus employer can be subpoenaed. As to the father, you don't need a court order at this point. He can be sent a Notice of Taking of Deposition and a Request for Production of Documents. You should consult with a local attorney.
