Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Is surveillance admissable in court
I am in the process of a divorce, and my soon to be ex-husband hired a private investigator. He placed video surveillance in my house, tapped my phones, GPS my vehicle, and also had his PI follow me and take pictures of me INSIDE whoever's house I would go to. He told me that from all of the evidence he had acquired, he could prove me as an unfit mother. I thought it was illegal to video someone without their consent, a friend told me that since he was still on the title of this house, he could consent to the surveillance. Can they use anything they have against me in court?

Re: Is surveillance admissable in court
Whether something is admissible at court is a complex issue; however, it sounds as if at least some of the evidence collected by the PI could be used. I would suggest hiring a local attorney to assist with the divorce.
