Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Temporary Alimony

I was awarded temporary alimony while we were still married, but seperated. My husband was supposed to pay this temporary alimony and child support in the form of direct payments to the mortgage company. I found out after the final divorce decree that he had not paid the full amount to the mortgage company as the judge had order for over a year and that he lied about the amount the mortgage payment was . Can I get back payments for all the temporary alimony he did not pay the mortgage company? And can I get interest on that money?

Re: Temporary Alimony

Your final divorce decree should have addressed all issues up to that point. This is a question that you should discuss with the attorney who represented you, as he will be familiar with the wording of all the orders. If it was not addressed, whether it can be addressed now may depend on the language of the orders. Again, your attorney from that case should be able to answer that.
