Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Temporary hearing for child support

My wife and I are separated I filed for divorce 7 months ago. We have a hearing set for next month on temporary child support. What can I expect to happen, been paying support for my two children. My wife works full time and is the custodial parent. I recently got demoted from my job (salary to hourly) and less pay, less hours, becauce of the economy. What I have been paying has been calculated through the state. My wife has had no change in her income or hours. What will happen ?

Re: Temporary hearing for child support

There is no way anyone here who has not seen your pleadings (and hers) and your financial info could possibly answer you. These are questions you should be asking your lawyer, as going to a contested hearing without a lawyer is almost always an expensive disaster. Your lawyer, and hopefully you have not made the mistake of not having one, won't be able to make predictions either, but he can help you as to the outcome.

No one can tell you "what will happen". So many of your issues are discretionary with the assigned judge. Ask your lawyer; if you don't have one, get one.
