Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Term Life Insurtance coverage after divorce

I continued coverage after the divorce in 12/2007. He passed away 2/2009. AFLAC tonight says they dont have to pay the policy since there was a divorce and the court didnt order coverage afterwards.

Insurance companies will say anything to avoid paying, if they can get away with it. Consult with a local attorney. Your policy and the divorce papers need to be reviewed. If I can be of assistance, feel free to give me a call.

Whether they are right or not depends on policy language we'd need to see to answer you. (They may well be telling you an incorrect answer). Don't rely on their answer. Let a lawyer see it.

I will need to take a look at your policy to determine any liability by AFLAC. You can email of fax over a copy. No Charge for reviewing it for you.
