Going out of town
I have sole legal and physical custody of my son. Visitation is at my descretion. I'm planning to be leaving the country for 2 weeks and was going to let my sons father keep him while I'm gone. My sons father has threatened to take me back to court several time to try to get custody of our son. I know he doesn't have a chance for that. But I'm afraid that if I leave my son with him while I'm out of the country that he will try to say I have abbonded him. Can he do this? Is there any legal items that I need to do to stop this from becoming an issue? Thank you in advance for any help/advice given.

He has no right to deny your custody rights once you return. I would send him a certified letter stating when you are leaving, when you are returning and how to contact you during your trip. If he refuses to give the child back to you upon your return, you can file a Contempt of Court action against him.
