Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Uncle in ICU - Handling his affairs

My Uncle has been away from the family for many years. He was admitted to the hospital giving my mother as his emergency contact. When he became critically ill they contacted her but she is out of state and an invalid. My other 2 uncles want nothing to do with him and I have been making medical decisions at this time. Is there a way to get Power of Attorney to take care of his affairs with him unconcious? He is extremely ill and is on a ventilator & dialysis and not able to communicate. I visit and/or speak to the doctor's daily checking on his status but I am concerned that I will not be able to do anything if he would die. Help please!
