Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

unemployed custodial parent (me) just offered a job out of state. currently awaiting court ordered "mediation" for nonphysical joint custody (father) after 13 years of moderate at best parental participation. losing house and car and want to leave immediately. can the case be transferred so i can leave?

Your lawyer will know how to address the issue in mediation. If you don't have one, there is your biggest obstacle, and it indicates the issue is not important. No, you can't just move and have the case transferred to where you wind up.

The case would remain here. I assume there is a standing order preventing you from removing the children from the jurisdiction. You need an attorney.
