I want to file for divorce but my husband refuses to give me a contact address. I have requested via email (which is my only means of contacting him). What are my options ?

Re: Unkown Whereabouts

This is a matter for a lawyer. Depending on the facts, a lawyer may be able to either serve a case by publication or otherwise locate the defendant for other service. A divorce is something you should not attempt pro se, and a lawyer will handle this issue for you.

You MUST find an address for him to have him served if you want all the issues of your divorce, e.g., custody, child support, division of property, etc., handled by the court. Otherwise, you can serve him by publication but the court will only be able to grant a divorce and not be able to address the other issues. Consult with a local attorney.
