Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Unwed Parents

My son's ex girlfriend is pregnant. They have no plans to reconcile at this point. However they have mutually agreed upon custody and vistation. If they write a 'contract' outlining what they have agreed upon would the contract be considered legally binding? Or does a lawyer have to draw up the agreement?

Re: Unwed Parents

If all they doi is draw it up themselves it won't be worth the paper it is written on, and your son will have no right to even see the child.

You need a lawyer to draft and file proper paperwork, which must be approved by a court.
