Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Possible violation of Order of Protection
My husband had an affair which resulted in a child. Because of harrassment and threats from the mother of the child we had to get an order of protection against her. My husband has been paying child support since the DNA test revealed that he is the father. He paid and took the DNA test on the day the child was born. She waited until the child was 5 months old. She is now taking my husband to court for Abandonment of Child - In State. If he does not appear it could result in an arrest. My questions are (1) Is this in violation of the order of protection; she is only doing this because other than child support, my husband has not had any contact with her or the child & (2) should we have an attorney present since it could lead to an arrest.
Sorry so long--Please Help

Who knows what is in the mind of this woman? Your husband should immediately consult with an attorney.
