Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Visitation

My ex and I have joint legal custody and I have physical custody as I am the mother. The decree states that if we cannot agree on visitation, that I make the final decision. Right now our 8 yr old is visiting every other full week with her father. I no longer feel that 2 homes is in her best interest at this age and going forward; however, the papers state that if we do not agree, then the father will get the child 6pm Wed to 6pm Sat each week, which is also not appropriate and we both cannot figure out why we signed that. Anyway, how easy/hard is it to get that scheduled changed? He is determined and has his mind set that the back and forth has not affected our daughter..she consistently states she wants one home and to be with me and her stepdad. I know it's not her choice, but she needs more stability. Also there is questionable evidence on verbal and some physical abuse by her stepmother. Help.

Re: Visitation

You should consult with a local attorney about a Petition for Modification of visitation. The judge will take into account all the factors affecting the child.
