Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Visitation Order Confusion
My ex and I have a new Final Order relating to custody and visitation. He is an attorney and his interpretation of provisions regarding extracurricular activities and when they can be scheduled differs from mine (which is supported by my former counsel)in that he believes that as the non-custodial parent, he is still allowed to schedule any activity for the children, even when they are in my physical custody, and I am under court order to allow him to pick them up and take them to the activity. This has created little time together for me and the children.
The paragraph is ambiguous; can the court reissue its Order to clarify its intent regarding this provision? How can the matter be resolved? My ex refuses to resolve it amicably.

Re: Visitation Order Confusion
Wityhou reading the provision, it is har to tell. I would suggest taking the matter back to the court for clarification since it is subject to more tahn one interpretation. This could be handled by your attonrey through a conference call with the judge. The judge would far rather have the matter cleared up now on the phone than during a hearing.
Generally, the non custodial parent does not have the authority to schedule matters during the primary custodial parent's period of custody and vice versa. of course, both parents are generally permitted and encouraged to attend extra-cirrucular evernts.
