Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

visitation rights as a noncustodial parent

My daughter was born in the state of minnesota, her mother took my daughter and moved to georiga. I'm a noncustodial parent who's childsupport order is in minnesota. My daughter has been living in ga for the past 6yrs. How can I go about filing a petetion to be able to have some visitation rights. What are my rights as a noncustodial parent who pays childsupport & wihes to spend time with his kid? Is that something that can be taken care of from here in minnesota? If not how long could it potentially take if i traveled to ga, to gain some type of legal rights?

You will need to file a petition in the county of the residence of your ex. Depending on which county that is, a temporary hearing could be scheduled in as short a time as a couple of weeks.

Mr. Field is absolutely correct, you need a GA attorney to take care of visitation and child support.
