Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
visitation rights
I have a 14 year old daughter, whom I pay support to through the courts. I have visitation rights, however my ex-girlfriends husband said I need to go through him before I can see my daughter. I haven't seen my daughter since February of 2003. It was no problem until I started paying child support. I don't know what to do. Please help!

Re: visitation rights
Whatever document established your visitation rights should control. I doubt very seriously that it contains any language giving the boyfriend any say-so whatever. Have the documents reviewed by a local atttorney.
Re: visitation rights
I would need to see the settlement agreement or final decree to see what it says, but the boyfriend is a third party and shouldn't be denying you visitation. You should consider filing a contempt petition against your ex-wife. Don't let him deny you your rights but keep your emotions under control.
Re: visitation rights
I suggest that you immediately file an action for contempt against your ex-girlfriend. This is your best course of action at this time. Good Luck!
