Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
Visitations
I have custody of my son. According to divorce decree Ex wife gets 6 weeks of summer with him. She is to notify me by May 1st of dates. She didnt specify dates. Also , my son (12) doesnt want to visit. When he does she brings him home 1 to 2 days late. Her brother lives with them and he is a known felon. She lives in a different county. My county says to file charges in her county ,and her county says it should be my county since that was where she picked him up.How can I stop this from happening? And do I have the right to keep my child away from a known criminal?

Re: Visitations
Judges do not like seeing custodial parents nitpick on visitation, so while, yes, you can spend lots of money and complain, you run the risk that a Judge may do the opposite of what you seek. An attorney really needs to sit down with you and assess the conduct and the background to see if you should or should not do anything.
"A known criminal" doesn't really tell me anything; the simple fact that someone may have a record or be a criminal may or may not affect the child, so more facts are needed. If the conduct of the person threatens the child, that may be grounds to change visitation.
