Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

if i was visiting friends from college and i have my 10 month old son and while visiting my friends go to jail for possession of marijuana, i am not charged with anything and then the police return and make me and my child come with them because i am 21 and and drinking and blowing three times over the legal limit can the legally place my son in foster care without trying to contact any other family and see if they can get him?
