Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

W-2 forms and divorce

I am in the middle of a semi-nasty divorce and my husband was my employer before I left him, and he now refuses to give me my W-2 forms until he ''decides what he wants to do with them,'' in regards to filing. Is this lawful? Do I have any recourse with my divorce attorney that can be taken against him?

Thank-you.

Congratulations on already obtaining representation. Since your lawyer is responsible for counseling you and conducting matters related to your divorce you will need to discuss this concern with him/her.

Talk to your divorce lawyer and see if he suggests that you make a complaint to the IRS. Your husband can be heavily fined by the IRS.
