Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

waiting period for a marriage license in georgia after divorce

I understand that it has recently come up in a court case that in the early 1970S althrough Georgia had no waiting period for a license, that there was a statutory exception if either party had recently been divorced.

Does nayone know anything about this and if its true would it not nullify a large number of marriages performed at that time?

I'm not aware of any such case (I started practicing in 1980). Without research I can't unfortunately give a better answer.
