Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Wife left and now wants unrestricted access to home

My wife walked out on me over one month ago. She is now insisting that she have

unrestricted access to the house when I am not there. She had her lawyer

send me a letter stating that they would seek a court order to allow her access.

Can she do this? Can I insist on being present when she is in the home?

She already came back once when I was not here and cleared out all of the

jewlery and things of value (over $10,000 worth) and at that point, I changed

the alarm code and asked her to only come to the house when I was present.

I believe she intends to accuse me of "Verbal Abuse" and there has been no physical

abuse. I don't believe there was verbal abuse either, but I have been told that since

I am a man, I automatically loose on this one just about no matter what.

Can she force me to let her in anytime or is this a bluff?

This is a touchy situation and I would strongly suggest you consult an attorney. In most circumstances, you will need to go to court to determine who gets exclusive possession of the house on a temporary and then permanent basis. It would be unusual for both parties to have access to the house.
