Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My wife left me a few weeks ago.She just walked out saying she was not happy anymore.We have no children together.How long do I have to wait before I can change the locks on my home?Also both vehicles are in my name.One is paid for.The other is not.Can she come up later and take one of them/?Thanks for your time.

You badly need to hire a lawyer. Changing the locks is an act that, unless done with legal advice, could have seriously adverse results to your case. As for what happens to the cars, your home, or anything else, you have posted far too facts to answer.

The cars are titled in your name but if they were acquired during the marriage, they are "marital" property and are subject to equitable division by the court. However, they are in your name and your wife cannot just take one of the cars. Technically, she will need an order if one of the cars are transferred to her as part of equitable distribution. Whose name is on the deed to the house? If the house was acquired after the date of marriage, its marital too. You cannot dispose of these things or just change the locks without first speaking to a divorce attorney.
