Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

My wife and I live in the same house and she went and filed for child support. Our kids were born in the marriage, we live in the same house and because I will not give her extra money to buy designer purses and shoes, she is attempting to take my money through child support. Is this legal in the state of GA. I want to leave the marriage but i want to take my kids with me.
