Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

In trying to have my ex wife served since late august, she moved out of her old house September 28 to another county same state. How long does it take to serve someone? Trying to get a child modification done. I think this is ridiculously long. Should I get a new lawyer?

Service can be difficult, as sheriffs don't camp out to serve things and easily can miss people who go shopping, go to work, or just don't answer the door. Have your paid your lawyer extra fees to get a private process server? If not, you probably need to, so he can address it that way.

If your wife has moved to another county, the Sheriff in that county will have to serve her or you may want to consider a special process server. You also can have her served at work. I suggest you go over the options with your attorney.
