Where will my children go if something happens to me

My husband and I are divorced and he has supervised visitation, due to my inability to trust him, this was set up by my attorney and he agreed. My question, can I request that in the event that something happens to me that my mother gets my children and he continues with the supervised vists, untill the children are older, or will he automatically get them and my mother have to go to court for them?
