Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Will my marriage be valid if my boyfriend's second marriage occured while he was married to his first wife. He has since divorced his first wife. His first and second marriage occured in NY. He and I now reside in GA. Does he have to get the second marriage annulled or obtain a divorce from wife number two,it has been 15 years, before he and I can get married?

The law does not recognize the second marriage. As such, once he got divorced from his first wife, he wasn't married at all. As such, no reason you can't marry him. To be safe, consult a Georgia family law attorney to discuss the specifics (review the divorce decree from the first marriage) BEFORE you try and become wife #3.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******

While his second marriage may be void or voidable, he is a criminal and you should consult with a lawyer to evaluate how to protect yourself before considering marriage.
