Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
wills
My father recently passed away. My mother told me everything was left to me. That was three weeks ago. Now she is stating that it was left to her and wants me to meet her at court house to sign paper saying I will not contest the will. I have never heard of this. If it was left to my mother I am fine with this. But I am having doubts about what I am suppose to sign. I have never been thru this before. I have 3 kids that I need to think about. And I want things to be done the way my father wanted. There is a man coming with my mother I believe he is an attorney. What kind of paper could they be having me sign? I really do not have the funds but should I take my own attorney? Do I have to agree with something that does not feel right?

Re: wills
This sounds fishy to me. Don't sign anything without at least consulting with a local attorney.
Re: wills
Do not meet at the courthouse. Get a copy of the will and the paperwork they want you to sign and bring it to your own lawyer to review.
