Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia
I am wondering.. is there a certain percentage of a man income that goes to child support? Or how is it figured in Georgia? I know its based now on both parents income.. I work 2 jobs and still dont make less than $2500 a month. My ex pays support for my 2 sons but it hasnt been modified for about 5 years. I know he makes much more than me. Also, I have a 17 yr old that lives with him , that is no longer in school, he got kicked out. How does that affect the support that He could ask for from me. I was told that since he isnt in school there is no support. He is coming home to live soon. Anyway, the ex has 5 children total plus another on the way . He provides health insurance but it is very minimal coverage and has better coverage on "his" family. He doesnt help with school items, christmas or any extra needs of the kids such as school trips or anything like that. It takes 100 % of my income to raise the boys... what % of his income will he be made to pay ?

What you were "told" was wrong. You have a duty, and can go to jail, for not paying HIM support for the 17 year old, as he is a minor. Discuss this with your attorney (and you need one).
There is no way to calculate support from your post. Support is based in income shares, meaning that to compute it we need both your incomes, plus a slew of other numbers that are used to adjust support, including day care, other dependents, cost of insurance, etc.
