Legal Question in Medical Leave in Georgia
Is FMLA different for each state? I live in Georgia and didn't know if you were able to receive your partial paycheck while out on medical leave.

The FMLA is a federal law that applies in every state, unless the state has its own analogous law that provides for additional protections. Georgia does not have a state law similar to the FMLA. The FMLA does not require employers to pay employees while they are out on FMLA leave. However, if you have unused vacation, sick or personal days, you should be able to use them while out on FMLA leave. Additionally, in some cases, you may qualify for short-term disability benefits while out on FMLA leave.
