Legal Question in Medical Leave in Georgia

Short term disability/Family Medical Leave Act

Yesterday my doctor signed a letter telling my employer that I was temporarily disabled (herniated disk). Today, I was let go citing economic reasons. Do I have any recourse?

This really smells bad. Contact an attorney experienced in EEO/employment matters ASAP. I see a possible FMLA claim but there are other possible claims to be looked at as well. Good luck.

Re: Short term disability/Family Medical Leave Act

You may have a claim for retaliation under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). However, there are some key facts I would need to get from you to determine whether the FMLA applies. I would be happy to offer you a free consultation. If you are interested, please call me at the number listed in my profile below.
