Severance is not required by law in Georgia. Your entitlement to severance is based the contract, if any, with your employer. As the first reply stated, that is up to the individual employer. However, you may be entitled to unemployment compensation. Should you have any problem and be denied unemployment, you should consult someone like myself who handles unemployment appeals.
