Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
I have been in my apartment for 4 mnths and have made a request for my carpet to be shampooed since I found out they did not shampoo it before I moved in and also requested it to be exterminated. I went to an allergist due to suddenly breaking out in rashes and found out I am allergic to cockroaches which is in my apartment. Can I sue the apartment complex since I have asked them to shampoo the carpet and exterminate before I get sick and they didn't

Lawsuits like this are not often based on a person's particular allergies or sensitivities. The question is whether the carpet and infestation are so bad that it causes a real health concern (aside from your sensitivities). We are not there to look at it, and we don't don't have your lease to see what theya re responsible for (and you did not tell us). An occasional roach or bug is common to just about every apartment or house. You also have not told us what the landlord says when you raise the issue to them. IF there is a real problem, after written notice to the landlord, you might let them know you will be getting cleaning/exterminating and deducting from rent. If it is really uninhabitable beyond a simple fix, you might deem the landlord in breach of their lease, but taking that step often backfires if not actually uninhabitable.
