Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

Auto Accident

I was recently in an auto accident where the other driver was at fault. I was dazed by hitting my head on the driver side window but declined any onsite medical attention even though the responding officer reccomended I call a paramedic. The insurance company has told be my car was totaled and has offered me what I consider an unfair value for my car. I was not in market for another car, in the last year I have made $2,000 in repairs to my car. I would like to know if I have any recourse with the insurance company.

Re: Auto Accident

It sounds like you are focused on property damage, and usually in car accidents your focus should be on personal injury, if there was any. You can't get more than the present market value for a car no matter what repairs you did. In any event, you should not be negotiating with an insurer without seeing a lawyer first as that almost always hurts your claim.
