Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia
what do I do with a bounced check?
I recently loaned $2000.00 to an associate. She signed a promisary note in front of a witness. She returned on promised date with check but asked that I hold it. The check was no good. She promises to make check good but hasn't deposited funds or collected check. She owns a local business with merchandise and also owns a large home. What are my legal avenues to obtain my money. We bank at the same bank?

Re: what do I do with a bounced check?
Since you agreed to hold the check, you are deemed to have extended credit to her and you cannot now take out a bad check warrant. Your remedy is to sue her in small claims court.
