Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

My boyfriend and I are breaking up. He has opted to leave the house we both share a lease on. What do I have to do to get him removed from the lease legally? What are my legal rights until he is removed from lease?

You cannot remove your boyfriend from a joint lease and he cannot remove you from one.

Both of you contracted with the lessor. Unless the lessor chooses to release someone (and he has no reason to do so), both of you are stuck.

This is something that you should have discussed with a lawyer before moving together without marriage.

I am not sure why you think anyone here knows the terms of your lease. Read it and it will tell you what the obligations are. Your "rights" are likely less important. Both of you accepted this risk when you moved in with your boyfriend and signed a lease. The landlord certainly is not bound by your personal relationship.
