An ex coworker is posting private issues of my life on facebook. Can anything be done?

You won't get a meaningful response of you don't even identify the subject matter. We don't know what you think is "private." If a co-worker knows, how private is the information? What is false about the information being posted? If you are asking whether the is a general right to muzzle someone simply because they are talking about (or posting) things you believe are none of their business, the answer is no.
If you feel what is posted is inappropriate, and nothing in your post tells me it is (as you gave no details), you can contact Facebook by clicking the contact us link on their site and ask them to review what is posted. Unless it violates the law or their guidelines, they won't act. It it does violate either, they can assist you.
Hummm .... this is a tough one. The attorneys raise some good points. I do not know what the information is or why its private but the other ex-co-worker knows. If it is false information, you can sue them for libel. Facebook may not force them to take it down unless the post violates one of their terms of service. You would have to provide a copy of the post and their terms of service if you wanted an opinion to see if it does.
There is also a tort called invasion of privacy. If this is truly private information (like where she got your hospital records and splattered the details on Facebook) then you can sue for that. You also could enjoin further action. If you think a sternly worded lawyer letter may work, I will send one for you for a reasonable fee. You can ask her to stop, but if there are no grounds to sue, letting her know that you don't like her conduct may only encourage more of it.
Feel free if you want to discuss more of the details or provide the post to me so I can review and better advise.

All of the attorneys who answered are very correct - I'd echo "what is it that you feel is private?"
