credit union

in sept. 06 i put all my belongings in storage and i set up the payments to come out of my checking account, in nov 06 the credit unoin stopped payment on my debit card and months went by and when i returned the states i found out that the storage co. auctioned off all my things in storage, the credit union told me that my mail was being returned to them so they froze the account and not let me make any charges until i contacted them and give them some updated information...and this action did'nt allow the storage to collect there monies from my account which made me lose everything i own...can you please give me some sound advice

Generally, it is up to the party renting the space to pay for it. The storage facility is not responsible for the relationship between you and your bank. They simply need to be paid. Moreover, it is your responsibility to keep up with your bills and checking accounts. We do not have your storage contract, so read it and make sure they followed all requirements of notice.
