Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

drowning responsibility

A child drowned in my elderly parents pool though no fault of theirs. The pool was double fenced (4 ft) with locks. The child had to climb both fences. The child had a history of running away from home. No one searched or asked to search the pool until the following morning. They ruled the death a accident. Can my parents be sued for this accident.

Re: drowning responsibility

Unfortunately, your parents can THEORITICALLY be sued, although I doubt that would happen. You should consult with a local attorney who can review their homeowners insurance policy to make sure they are covered. If you would care to discuss this matter, please feel free to call me.
